Seçil is a tech enthusiast with a knack for hands-on creation and an insatiable appetite for learning. Currently entrenched as a full stack engineer at Capital One, she’s orchestrating the construction of cloud infrastructure and diving deep into the intricacies of back-end development for the APIs fueling Capital One’s Travel sites. Since her initiation into the fintech realm as a Software Engineer (SWE) in 2019, seçil has honed her development skills, previously in the realm of cross-platform mobile app development.
Beyond her coding prowess, seçil serves as the Events Lead for the WIT, New England Chapter at Capital One. Her mission: to curate resources, including workshops, that amplify the presence and professional trajectory of women in the tech domain. Prior to her software engineering metamorphosis, seçil’s immersion in academia granted her profound insights into her identity as a woman of color, fueling her commitment as an ardent advocate and ally for those venturing into the tech space.
With a unique journey that spans over a decade of teaching experience and a non-conventional route back to Software Engineering, seçil serves as a beacon for those navigating career transitions. She holds a Ph.D. in Performance Studies from Tufts University and an MBA from the University of Maine.
