Speaker Bio

A passion for learning about language made Elisabeth move from Germany to the UK in 2014 to pursue a BA in Linguistics & Mathematics at the University of York. Afterwards, she completed an MSc in Computer Science with Speech and Language Processing at the University of Sheffield. For the last 4 years, Elisabeth has been working as a Knowledge Engineer at Amazon Alexa in Cambridge; using her background to help Alexa understand and respond to all things customers ask of her. Elisabeth is passionate about sharing her knowledge and making Tech careers more approachable, especially for women and those from non-tech backgrounds.

She has given several talks including a session at Grace Hopper Celebration 2022. In recognition of the quality of her work and her continued effort to mentor and champion others, Elisabeth has been shortlisted for several awards celebrating her as a rising star in the UK Tech industry.

Fun Fact: I like to embroider and am currently working on a set of self-designed cross-stitched dice for Dungeons and Dragons!
