Hi everyone, my name is Madhavi Gavini, I am the CEO and Co-Founder of Droplette. I’m a mathematician by training with degrees from MIT & Johns Hopkins and together with my Co-Founder, Rathi Srinivas we created Droplette which has been recognized on TIME’s Best Inventions 2022 list, and winner of CES 2023 Innovation Award!

I am really excited to connect with the innovative entrepreneurs that will be in attendance and learn from others in the tech space.

Attendees will be able to learn about the unexpected challenges that arise as you build and scale your business, the type of resources that are critical, and key learnings that we’ve had as we’ve grown Droplette.

Innovation in technology is immensely exciting to me, especially given my mathematics and computer science background. This year, we’ve been working on incorporating AI into our customer’s skin health journey as well as pushing the boundaries with new formulation R&D by adapting ingredients that come from a biotechnology context. Droplette has been recognized several times for our innovation and has been named one of Time’s best inventions of 2022 and has been the recipient of an Edison Gold Award. It’s something that we pride ourselves on, so the continuation of pushing industries forward with technology is exciting all around.

Although sometimes it can get challenging, it is completely worth it to see the technology that you developed and built actually be used by other people to change their lives in a meaningful way.

The collaborative tech community at large has been a huge part of why I’ve been able to bring my company this far. I would encourage all women in tech to just keep innovating and building on their ideas and to connect early and often with others since this is an incredibly collaborative field.

Over the past 3 years, since we launched Droplette to customers, there’s been something crazy in the world every single year – just a few examples are the pandemic, the supply chain crisis, and the economic instability. But I’ve learned that you can work through all of these things if you believe in your ideas, figure out your product-market fit, are flexible and adaptable, and build the right team. Although not everything may go exactly according to plan, some of the pivots that you make due to circumstances will actually be the best moves for the business.

We wouldn’t be where we are today without the amazing network that we’ve built which includes other tech founders and advisors in sectors ranging from tech, business development, dermatology, and beauty. I would recommend attending meet-ups and conferences and to even submit yourself for speaking engagements at those types of events. The network you build makes a huge difference – Boston has a fantastic tech community that has so many resources which can really help you get to the next level.

Join Madhavi Gavini for her Fireside Chat discussion, “Creating The Future Landscape of Technology” joined by Caitlin Brumme, Chief Executive Officer @ MassChallenge at Women in Tech Boston on October 2 – 3.
